On a recent trip to Melbourne for both business and pleasure – my husband and I stayed at the Melbourne Marriott Hotel for 3 nights.
An excellent location as it was in the centre of the CBD which made it perfect for shopping and walking to all of our favourite restaurants and cafes.
The room – no let’s call it a suite – was fantastic. A large living/sitting room separate from our bedroom , table , 2 televisions and a walk in closet. (heaps of room for my shopping)
The room itself was lush with turn down service every night and big fluffy pillows, bath sheets and robes. I could have quite happily have stayed in my room for 3 days as it was incredibly comfortable and homely.
Fully stocked Mini fridge and tea and coffee making facilities , help make this hotel perfect for a Melbourne holiday with your partner, friends or your family.
For business it was also ideal as there was a desk with plenty of space ( I need this as I tend to ‘spread out a lot’, as my family says) and excellent connectivity to the internet.
I would highly recommend upgrading to the executive lounge which is a lovely relaxing space. Complimentary breakfast whilst reading the newspaper are offered , and in the evening , hors d'oeuvres and dessert. Complimentary wine, beer and spirits and non-alcoholic beverages are also offered making it a really nice touch to your holiday.
.
The staff could not have been more helpful . For eg, The concierge was able to make us reservations in a restaurant I never thought we would get a table in, as it was quite late notice, and also recommended other great places to eat.
On arriving, instead of standing in a queue waiting to check in , we were handed a glass of sparkling wine, whilst someone took our bags for us. By the time we were checked in, our bags were already on the way to our room. A great start to our mini break !!!!
I could highly recommend this hotel and what the Melbourne Marriott state on the front of their web site, “ Located in the heart of the city, our Melbourne hotel features exceptional facilities and unparalleled service. The Melbourne Marriott Hotel is boutique in size, grand in style, and the perfect welcome to your Melbourne hotel stay.” is spot on

Recently on a trip to L.A. my husband and our two girls ( 14 and 16
yrs ) stayed in the most wonderful hotel, Renaissanse Hollywood Hotel
and Spa in Hollywood.
It was the perfect location and only steps
away from many shops and cafés, the Star Walk and of course the Kodak
Theatre.
Having spent the prior week in Las Vegas and having four of us share
one room, I asked if we could upgrade to a slightly bigger room -
Well, our room was spectacular. !!
‘Slightly bigger’ was an understatement. It had a king size bed,
dining area, kitchen and lounge room, complete with a sofa bed and
various other little ‘funky’ stools to sit on. The staff were so kind
and provided us with 2 rollaway beds- that way ensuring everyone got a
great night sleep!
With the 2 extra beds, four big suitcases, shopping bags and four
people there was still an enormous amount of room left that enabled
everyone to be able to sit and relax!!!
The staff, the location, the room and the free M&M dispenser down
stairs were all just perfect and I would certainly stay there again.
I could not end this blog by not mentioning the floor to ceiling
windows that gave us spectacular views of Hollywood at night. |
